Little Oaks was established over 20 years ago by Linda and Nicholas Birkin, and continues to be a family owned and managed Children’s Day Nursery serving Kimberley and surrounding areas.
The nursery was purpose built in 1998 by Nicholas, a building contractor, and his team of builders using re-claimed materials in keeping with the original farm building. It is maintained to a constantly high standard. Linda manages the nursery on a daily basis, and the highly qualified and experienced practitioners provide a warm and loving environment in which children enjoy inspirational education experiences.
Identifying the need for wrap-care for Primary School aged children, Little Oaks Cool Kids Club was opened in 2003, offering Breakfast and After School within Larkfields and Gilthill Primary Schools, as we as Full Day School Holiday Club care.
Little Oaks maintain a reputation of providing a safe, fun and welcoming environment for children before and after school, and boast a team of qualified, friendly staff who always look to provide exciting, enjoyable and stimulating crafts and activities for the children.
Linda and Nick are extremely proud of the outstanding level of childcare they provide.
We believe that it is essential to provide a happy and secure environment to enable children to thrive. We understand the importance of learning through play and we strive to make each day a magical, stimulating and educational experience.
Children love adventures. They love new challenges, trying new things, making new friends, learning new skills and recieving positive feedback from all of our staff. We are fortunate to have two great outdoor spaces for our children to explore including a purpose built adventure garden and mud kitchen.
Learning in the yearly years is hugely important but it has to be FUN! Thats why we place great importance on learning through exploration, sensory play and with our friends. Starting as early as six months of age, we have a range of toys an activities to encourage and develop each childs communication skills, which form the foundation for further development.
At Little Oaks, partnerships with parents are incredibly important. Our staff ensure the are available to parents at any time to discuss all aspects of nursery life. We also schedule regular reviews as we chart each childs progress to ensure the are recieving exceptional care and are constantly learning.
Our delicious and healthy meals are all cooked on site by our chef Sarah from the freshest and most local ingredients we can find. Mealtimes are also fun, where children learn social skills by eating together, sharing together and helping each other.
We’d love to show you around our nursery so that you can see first hand what a happy and exciting place Little Oaks is.
